Beagle Dog
History
The history of the hound dog breed begins with
the time of William the superior, the World Health Organization brought Talbot's
dogs to the European country in 1066. These now-extinct dog’s area units the
ancestors of the fashionable hound dog, also because the ancestors of
contemporary fox terriers. within the following centuries among the nobility
were very talked-about hounds of little sizes, a number of that were thus
miniature that they were known as "glove hounds."
During the reign of Edward II (1307-1327) these glove hounds
were in special esteem, as in the reign of Henry VII. Hunting such a small
breed among the aristocracy was purely entertaining - in the room could release
a mouse with a bow and bet on how quickly the dog catches it. And whether it
will at all. They can also be seen in the paintings of that period.
But where the name of the breed is not quite clear, here the
researchers are lost in guesses, as there are versions of the origin of both
the French language (begueule - open throat), and the Old English (beag -
small). By the beginning of the 18th century, the beagle began to recede into
the background, as its place in the houses of the aristocracy, was rapidly
occupied by fox terrier - The breed is larger and less toy.
The thing is that the country began to actively hunt foxes,
and here, as you know, the fox terrier has no equal. What, in fact, is
evidenced even by the name of this breed. It is necessary to separate the glove
beagle and the standard version of the breed, as miniature individuals have specially reduced variety, which was created by crossing or selection (there is
a disease - beagle dwarfism, about it below).
The standard version had a large size but was inferior to the
fox terrier. The standard beagle was contained not only by aristocrats but
also by ordinary farmers, for hunting small game, mainly hares. And it was the
ordinary farmers of England and Ireland that saved the breed from complete
extinction in the 18th century when they now lost interest in these dogs.
Philip Honey wood - an English priest and lover of dogs, as
well as hunting, in the middle of the 19th century created a flock of beagles,
which are considered direct ancestors of modern representatives of the breed.
But he primarily focused on the quality of dogs, not on appearance. But another
breeder named Thomas Johnson, who lived around the same time, also cared about
compliance with external standards. He tried to give maximum attractiveness to
his pets.
It can be said that those dogs were almost no different from
the current ones, with some exceptions. By that time, the total size of the
individuals had increased slightly, as breeders sought to create a more
versatile dog capable of also hunting foxes. In the second half of the 19th
century, the beagle breed came to America, and in 1884 the ACC began
registering these dogs.

Description
Beagle is a small dog, it is proportionately complex and
aesthetic. The physique is muscular, the limbs are medium, the ears are long,
hangs on the sides of the head. The tail is medium length; the hair is short.
Personality
Breed of dog hound dog - it's extraordinarily
cute and emotional creatures that area unit guaranteed to create the life
of their homeowners a lot of colorful. hound dog could be a terribly cheerful
dog, he adores his homeowners, loves the planet around him, and doesn't hide
it. For complete happiness, he desires not such a lot - warm-heartedness, love,
and walks, ideally - within the park. Beagle includes a terribly harmonious and
cheerful character, and extremely seldom comes into confrontation with
individuals or different dogs. He will gladly go with you for a walk, though on the
edge of the world, and at the same time will always maintain the same wonderful
food, friendly attitude, and love towards his master. Do not forget that these
dogs have a rich hunting past, so on the street, you need to make sure that the
beagle did not chase someone's Cat, a miniature dog, or not hit by a car in
an attempt to catch a pigeon.
Despite the fact that he is a very cheerful, harmonious, and
kind friend, he can often be naughty and act in his own way despite your
commands or discontent. At the same time, the dog understands you, because the
breed generally differs from good intelligence, but sometimes can trick and pretend
that, on the contrary, does not understand what they want from him. Or just do
it your way.
There are several ways to deal with this behavior, but in
any case, you should understand that this is a character trait, and it is
inherent in the breed, not specifically your dog. Therefore, there is no sense
to fight with your pet, severely punish him, etc.
Beagle is great for children, and although not suitable for the
role of babysitter, as a companion, participant, and just a good friend for
the child - a great choice. This breed, like most other dogs, needs early
socialization. But in this case, it is necessary not to make the pet more open
and friendly but in order to make it more flexible and developed as a person.
Strangers beagle perceives well, without dislike or
aggression. The owner's attitude to the person also plays a big role, that is,
if it is your friend, your pet will perceive him with friendliness by default,
and if the enemy, he will rather ignore it. Now in the CIS, these dogs are not
used as hunting dogs, as well as watchdogs. Rather, it's just a wonderful
companion for the whole family, with whom you will experience a lot of fun
moments.
Teaching
As we said above, the beagle breeds as a whole are well
understood, smart enough, but still, have a certain level of stubbornness and
sometimes do not want to obey in any way. To define the position of the
leader, and to achieve better obedience, physical punishment will not help.
That is, you can achieve some success, but create a lot of problems in the character
of the dog, make it depressed, and just break as a person. We need to be more
flexible.
If the dog does not listen to you during the walk, talk to
her strictly first, and after coming home do not rush to feed them. Let him wait for
about an hour. Perhaps the result will not come immediately, but after a while, the animal will come to the regularity of your actions, and your role as a
leader. During training, keep a positive attitude, a sense of humor (without it
with a beagle in any way), and have enough goodies in your pockets - they will
be useful to you. Do not make classes too long and boring, otherwise the dog
will perform tasks reluctantly.
Care
The breed of beagle dog has a short coat, which should be
calculated once a week. Always keep your dog's ears clean, inspecting them for
ticks and insects after a walk, and clean your eyes daily from sediment. Buy a
pet at least once a week, claws cut 3 times a month.
This dog feels better outdoors, in a closed yard where it is
free to move around. Beagle is also suitable for the apartment if there is an
active owner, but it is necessary to do daily long walks and work with the dog.
Beagle tends to be obese, as does Labrador if you don't
control your food intake.
