Breton Espanol Dog
history
The Breton Espanol is a French breed, although, unknowingly,
some people define them as English, as the name is in tune with the word
Britain. In fact, the breed got its name from the name of one of the areas in
the northwest of France.
The first evidence of the existence of the Breed Breton Espanol in France dates back to the 17th century - artists depicted hunting with
these dogs. Hunting is the main specialty of this breed and these dogs for
several hundred years. Historically, for other purposes, they were practically
not used (unless as a companion), simply because it is ineffective - to use a
specialized hunting dog in another capacity.
Especially since hunted with Breton to know, and
aristocrats, as we understand, rarely had problems with the maintenance of
several dogs or even a whole pack of dogs. Moreover, all performed certain
functions, and it rarely happened that the groomed, hunting noble dog sat on
the chain and sadly guarded his bowl, along with the gates of the castle.
That's how - as hunting and very valuable dogs - they were
described by Reverend Davis. He pointed out that he hunted with small, cheerful, and playful dogs, which showed excellent results, finding and pointing down the
downed game, while being retrievers. There are opinions that in the process of
forming the breed participated English Setteral though there is no
accurate evidence of this fact. However, according to other data, the process
was also involved in the spaniel.
The breed of Breton Espanol existed for several centuries as
a separate, and these dogs were bred with a clear understanding of the
preservation of characteristic features, however, they received official status
only in 1907. Also, in 1907 the first written standard of the breed appeared.
The first registered dog was a red-and-white male named Boy. By the way, the
first time in the name was the word "spaniel" and it disappeared only
in 1982.

personality
Breed of dogs Breton Espanol - very affectionate and loving
animals. It would seem, because it is a hunting dog, which carries primitive
instincts, because of what is able to be ruthless in relation to its prey. But,
in fact, these qualities are manifested only in the process of hunting, in
the circle of their loved ones, and in general - in everyday life, it is an
incredibly harmonious creature.
They are always happy to help the owner, open and cheerful. However,
there is one subtle point. These animals can naturally be very shy, and to get
rid of such character traits, they need to socialize properly. To do this, you
need to go with your dog to visit, introduce her to other people, adults and
children, and introduce her to other animals, not only dogs but preferably Cats. This is all the more necessary if you plan to have a cat at
home in the future.
Your dog should maximize his horizons due to new
acquaintances, sounds, smells, and situations that cannot be artificially
created only at home. By the way, these pets have never been used and are not
used in the modern world as watchdogs, it is for their good-naturedness and
love for people. This is a very adaptive breed, it can safely live both in the
private sector and in the conditions of the city apartment, even if the
apartment is small.
However, what should be taken into account is the high level
of energy of animals. At least an hour a day, and if possible, more is a
prerequisite. If you can't provide an animal with this level of physical
activity, it's best to choose another breed otherwise you'll just
make the dog miserable. She will develop hyperactivity, she may be overly
trying to attract your attention, as well as become very emotionally sensitive.
With regard to education, problems almost never arise.
Breed Breton Espanol is great for children, and will always
become a child a good friend and an interesting partner for games and for just
a daily pastime. However, since these dogs are very kind and patient, and also
have small sizes, the child necessarily needs to learn how to properly treat
the animal.
The breed has wonderful natural hunter instincts that you
can use if you are into hunting. In addition, these are very smart pets, they
understand not only words and hints, including behavior, but also, thanks to
their sensitivity, perfectly recognize the emotional state of the hosts.
teaching
The Dog breed Breton Espanol is well aware of the training
process and is always happy to learn. Of course, if you were properly raising
your dog and socializing. You can train your pet with a variety of commands,
although you can limit yourself to basic commands. Usually, there are no
problems in training. The only problems that can still appear, usually created by the owner, if he is not restrained, behaves nervously, and generally poorly
controls his emotions.
After all, the process of learning takes a lot of time, and
patience is not enough for everyone. But it is patience, kindness, a positive
attitude, and a sense of humor combined with a lot of encouragement, that are able to
give a good result. In any case, you can not behave rudely, or beat the dog,
because from this it will become closed, shy and fearful. And all the
beautiful, positive aspects of this breed will never be revealed.
care
The dog of the Breton Espanol breed needs weekly combing of
wool, as well as weekly bathing (this is the minimum). In addition, it can
be done after walking in the park or outdoors, paying special attention to the
ears. Hanging, flexible ears often retain moisture in the ear canal and should
be regularly cleaned, in addition, with his ears the dog often collects
different litter, fallen leaves, etc. Eyes clean daily or if necessary, claws
cut 3 times a month.
Common diseases
The breed of dogs Breton Espanol, in general, has good health,
but some diseases still occur:
