Jack Russell Terrier
history
The breed of Jack Russell Terrier originates from an earlier
breed - parsons Russell Terrier which was bred by priest Parson Russell.
Parson Russell Terrier was created for hunting foxes and badgers, however, some
dog breeders and hunters came up with the idea to improve the breed somewhat.
To this end, the original Parson-Russell Terriers crossed
with tatami and Welsh Corgi, resulting in a small, compact dog
with a more rigid character in relation to its prey. The distinctive feature
was the size of the new dog - it was noticeably lower than its predecessor, Parson-Russell
Terrier, about 10 centimeters in the withers, due to shorter legs.
Another difference - is the length and structure of wool - Jack
Russell wool is shorter and smoother. Of the pluses, there was a more active
and severe hunt for badger and fox. In relation to the person, the nature and
specificity of behavior have hardly changed. The differences between the Jack
Russell Terrier and the Parson Russell Terrier initially seemed small, and the
Parson-Russell Terrier breed allowed a new type of dog as possible.
Everything changed when the number of these new
"possible" dogs began to grow rapidly, due to gaining great
popularity not only among hunters but also among ordinary people. After all,
Jack Russell Terrier - just a charming dog. For example, if you saw the famous
movie "Mask" with Jim Carrey, you know what it is, because the main
character had just such a dog.
Dog breeders argued for a long time - not a dozen years.
Eventually, in 2001, on June 4, the Jack Russell Terrier was placed on the
temporary list. Some world cynological organizations and clubs of dog breeders
do not recognize Jack Russell Terriers as a separate breed and consider them a
kind of Parson Russell Terrier.

personality and Jack Russell terrier temperament
The Jack Russell Terrier is a source of boundless energy,
which the soul does not drink in its owners. They are extremely devoted to
their family and love the owners infinitely. Although initially these dogs
were created and bred as hunting, today they live everywhere in families as
pets, who have never in their lives hunted anything but a toy or their own
tail.
A large amount of energy is not a problem - the dog is very
active, likes to walk, and plays mobile games on the street and at home. However,
they are not very destructive, and with proper education and care, they will be
the smartest and most beautiful dogs in the world. Of course, if you do not need
security functions, when the dog should stop the attacker and at the same time
be able to inflict significant damage to him, just due to its size and
strength.
Jack Russell Terrier cannot boast of such qualities, but he
- is a wonderful companion and the best friend of the whole family. These dogs
have good intelligence, understand the owner, and love to participate in the
affairs of the family. This gives the pet the feeling that he works with you in
a team, which is very important for him because the breed was bred
specifically taking into account that these dogs could and loved to hunt with
others. Their mind can sometimes really surprise you, especially when they realize
it and use it as a tool to cheat and circle you with your finger.
For example, a dog can pretend to have learned the command
if you don't want to go for a walk with it. However, as soon as you go out, she
will immediately forget about the teams, and about training, and everything
else, and will enjoy the world around you. However, even in their cunning, they are
simple and very funny. Be sure - if you have a child, they will be best friends
by default, because the Jack Russell Terrier is great for children. This breed
can chase cats, so it is better to introduce them to these animals at an early
age.
teaching
Jack Russell Terrier - the dog is very smart and
understanding, and usually likes to communicate with the owner, feel
contact with him, teach new commands and please his family. However, like all
living creatures on the planet, the Jack Russell Terrier can sometimes be untuned
to training. He may just want to go for a walk, and as we said above, he may
try to outsmart you.
In this case, will save a sense of humor - with these dogs a
sense of humor, in general, is extremely desirable, as they are funny and funny
by nature. You don't need to apply any pressure on the pet, you just need to be
consistent, and patient and try to make the classes varied.
As a rule, these dogs are trained by basic teams, however,
their understanding and intelligence allow you to go further - it all depends
on you. Many people use the Jack Russell Terrier as a companion for the elderly
or people with disabilities (provided regular walks), as their devotion and
combination of other positive qualities make these dogs excellent companions.
care
Jack Russell Terrier has a short coat, and therefore almost
no need to comb the wool - it must be done once a week and enough. Three times
a month you need to prune the claws, monitor the cleanliness of the ears and
eyes, as well as bathe the dog 1-2 times a week.

The following diseases may appear in Jack Russell terriers:
- Legg-Calve-Perthes disease;
