Anatolian Shepherd Dog, history, characteristics of the breed, breed information, description, personality, teaching, common diseases and care.

Anatolian Shepherd Dog (Turkish Kangal, Karabash) History The breed of dogs Anatolian Shepherd belongs to one of the oldest, and, according to various archaeological studies, comes from hunting dogs that lived for 4000 years BC Their range of existence was in the territory of Mesopotamia, which includes part of modern Turkey. Due to its outstanding qualities as a defender and guard, thanks to its great strength, fearlessness, ability to resist even large predators, this dog has earned the respect of ancient people. It can be said that the development of the breed took place naturally, due to the specifics of the activity and the way of life that predetermined this activity. This can include the protection of livestock in pastures, the protection of households, and hunting. Add to this a difficult climate, a large number of dangers, and, often, the need to roam with their owners or herds, moving on the Anatolian plateau. For many centuries of such life, the breed has hardened and has found clear outlines, which in many respects remain today. The dog came to England thanks to archaeologist Charmian Hussey - he took several people with him around 1970. Since then, the breed of Anatolian Shepherd began to conquer the Western world, having previously conquered the eastern, for many centuries of service to people. By the way, these dogs are very appreciated in Australia, where they appeared in 1985, and today is very popular along with the breed Australian Kelpie. However, if the latter is used for grazing, the Anatolian Shepherd serves security functions directly inside farmland. There is now a lively debate as to whether the Anatolian Shepherd Dog is an independent breed, or whether the name can be described as a whole family of breeds similar to each other and living in the same territory. They include the dog Turkish Kangal, Akbash, and others. Here it is important perseverance and patience - it is necessary to return the pet to the process without anger. After all, he will want to play and run in 10 minutes. At first, it can be combined with games, but gradually it should become a serious occupation. Breaks should not be allowed. Obedience and execution of commands always go along with the promotion of success and punishment for wrongdoing, it is an axiom. But, remember that the punishment should not be excessive.
