Bullmastiff
history
Breed of dog bullmastiff appeared as a result of experiments
of breeders with breeds Mastiff and bulldog. It happened,
because for the functions of hunting down and hunting people (yes, you did not
hear) mastiff, in itself, was good, but it lacked aggression and dead grip. And
the bulldog, despite the fact that he could very well grasp his victim, has not
large enough power, and therefore it is problematic for him to stop a man
on the run.
In the role of breeders was a gamekeeper in England, who
needed a dog, able to catch up and stop poachers in the forest. At the same
time, the dog had to combine strength, speed, courage, large size and at the
same time be silent enough not to scare the victim from afar with his barking,
but, on the contrary, to sneak up on it as close as possible, and then by a
quick jerk to catch up and fall to the ground. Further work was done by the
gamekeepers themselves, who usually followed the dog.
The main work on interbreeding began in 1860, however, until
the beginning of the 20th century an independent breed of bullmastiff was
not bred. In fact, everything happened in a narrow circle of connoisseurs,
mastiff and bulldog crossed between each other, and the resulting dogs were
called "night dog gamekeepers."
In fact, he soon changed his role in catching poachers to
the role of a guard and a guard, as in this capacity he also had no equal. One
kind of bullmastiff can scare off the intruder, not to mention the battle with
this large and ferocious dog - an adult male can weigh up to 75, or even 80 kg.
In the early stages, breeders did not care about appearance, with one exception
- they needed a dark color so that the dog could not be seen at night while
tracking down poachers.
However, at the beginning of the 20th century, the situation
changed. In 1901, a breeder named Burton from the Thornaywood Kennel at the dog
show arranged a collective bet with the audience. The prize - one pound sterling
- was a considerable amount of money at that time (worker at the plant per month
could receive less). The challenge was to run the distance before you were
caught up and knocking you down by this new, outlandish dog. At that time, the
breed was not yet widely known and was not even recognized as a breed.
The volunteer was a man who worked in security paired with a
dog, that is - the experience was available, but it did not save him. He was
knocked down three times, after which he was forced to give up further attempts.
In 1924, the British Kennel Club recognized the breed. American Kennel Club -
1933. Moreover, the first bullmastiff registered in the ACS was a dog with a
very unusual name - "Fascination of Felons Fear" ("Stunning
Criminals Fear") in 1934.

personality
Breed of dogs bullmastiff - it's big, menacing with
intruders, but very kind with his family, animals. They get along well in a
family of all sizes, and at the same time can be faithful and devoted to
another of one host. The breed has high adaptability to different living
conditions, and even despite its large size, it is possible to live in a city
apartment. Another question is that in a small apartment you yourself will be
uncomfortable with such a large dog.
Bullmastiff has a balanced, and even calm character, but
everything changes, if he feels a threat to close people - then he becomes a
threat. And a serious threat. On the other hand, these dogs, despite their
strength and size, do not have uncontrolled aggression, and may well neutralize
the intruder and stop there, keeping him lying down until the police arrive.
Accordingly, this trend is reflected in fights with other dogs.
That is, the bullmastiff will not continue the fight if he
sees that the enemy has retreated, or the owner takes control of the situation.
This is a beautiful watchdog, who is very vigilant, knows his territory, and
will protect the owner, home, and family at the cost of his own life. There is
no doubt about that.
And at the same time, the dog has amazing patience in
communicating with children - sometimes the owners note that as if there are no
such pranks that their pet could not suffer from a child. Moreover, they have a
fairly high threshold of sensitivity, which, incidentally, requires additional
attention, as it is not always clear that the dog is seriously ill or injured,
because it may simply not feel it sharply enough, and does not give a mind.
The bullmastiff dog has an average energy level, and needs
walks but can spend most of the day at home. By the way, if you have to be
alone often - it's okay. These animals love active games, and love to spend time
with their owner and loved ones. They are generally very affectionate and
friendly, both for their size and specialization. Strangers may be perceived
differently, depending on the situation.
If it's an intruder who made his way to your property or
climbed into your apartment, that's one thing, and if it's strangers in the
park or the guests who first came to your house, it's completely different. In
the first case, there will be a duel, the outcome of which can be predicted. In
the second, the dog will rather behave restrained, but politely and without a hint of aggression. They need early socialization to broaden their horizons and
make their character more flexible. with Cats their best to be friends
at an early age, at least if you plan to wind them up. I mean, cats, with a
dog.
teaching
The breed of bullmastiff in general is good at training. In
terms of upbringing, there is a need for the character of the owner confident,
consistent, have a stable psyche, and not afraid of big dogs. But bullmastiff
can sometimes be so to say "on your mind", that is to show independence,
and try to do everything in their own way.
This should be prevented by showing consistency and
perseverance, but without losing your temper. Sometimes it's akin to playing
someone who's going to overthink it - but here you have to always come out victorious,
repeating the team and making it happen. You can fix it in everyday life, for
example, the command to "sit" before giving the dog a tasty toy.
care
The breed of dog bullmastiff has a short coat and almost
does not shed. For a long time to be in the hot sun, or, on the contrary, in
winter in the bitter frost outdoors, is not recommended. Always make sure that
the dog's ears are clean, clean your eyes daily, and trim the claws three times
a month. Buy a dog at least once a week. Because of the sensitive skin, it is
recommended to often change the bedspread on the dog's sleeping area.

other dog breeds. Among them:
