Wirehaired Pointing Griffon
Griffon korthals
history
The Griffin of korthals originated in Germany in the 70s of
the 19th century. In 1874, Edward korthals began his breeding program. In it, he
used a female named Moshe, who interbred with 5 male griffins - Satan, Hector,
Janus, Banco, and Jun.
Here it is necessary to say a few words about the breeder,
the founder of the breed. Edward korthals was a hunter and dog lover, and, like
many before and after him, sought to bring out a breed that met his ideas about
the ideal hunting dog.
Hard wool, strong physique, excellent hunting qualities,
instincts, as well as a huge devotion to the owner, intelligence, training, and
endurance - all these had to combine into a new breed. korthals spent several years
to succeed and get dogs that would fully match his idea. In fact, at that time
he had already set up a nursery, calling it "Ipenwoud" in
Bibesheim-on-Rhine.
Then he brought several individuals to France and achieved recognition in this country. So, now there is even a small dispute, as some
believe that the breed of griffin of korthals originated from France, others,
on the contrary, insist that the breed is purely German.
But, still, the first individuals were born in Germany, and
just they are considered the ancestors of the breed, its dogs - Lina, Mustache
I, and Kerida. After France, the breed club was formed in Belgium. In 1916, the
hard-haired griffin was recognized in the United States, but, interestingly, in
1887 the first dog of this breed was already registered in the United States,
it was a bitch named zolette. However, then it was registered as a
"Russian setter" because no one in the country knew this new breed.

personality
Griffon Of The Battalion is a dog extremely devoted to the
owner, and it is natural for her to spend most of the time with him. On the
other hand, these are very intelligent and noble animals, because the dog can
live without the owner for 8 hours during the day when he is at work or school.
However, you will need to devote time to your pet, and the development should
be versatile.
If you think that you can walk the dog for 15 minutes in the
morning, in the evening - about the same, it is absolutely not so. The breed
has a high level of energy, inquisitive and inquisitive mind, and therefore
needs not only different types of activity to maintain the physical body in
tone but also intellectual stimulation. Otherwise, your pet will simply be
bored.
Of course, the best place to keep a dog of this breed is a
private house, which has its own yard, garden, and lawn. Then your pet will be able
to be enough on the street, run, and generally actively spend time. However, he
has to sleep in the house, along with the owner (we do not mean - in the same
bed).
Griffon korthals perfectly teaches the team, and in general, is very disposed to training, so he understands the person perfectly. It has a
wonderful memory. Not familiar people perceive the breed without aggression,
but with caution. Although, in general, these pets are friendly to the person.
They have hunting instincts, which is quite natural, because they were created
to participate in hunting, first of all - on a bird. Well perceive children,
love to play with them and have fun.
